Pratishthan Mahavidyalaya Paithan, District Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar founded in 29th July 1965 and expanded on 06 acres of land has been a hub of learning for more than 59 years in a rural area, run by Pratishthan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

The college has NAAC re-accreditation of “B” Grade in his second cycle. Faculty members are well qualified as per UGC guidelines with 100% PhD holders with 70% faculty members are research guide.

The college is having well equipped departments and academic building. The college is attached with the junior college with the strength of 600 students. Senior college offers Arts, Commerce and Science having a strength of approximately 2000 students which includes Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) courses, College is having a PhD research center for Marathi, Hindi, Mathematics, History affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Furthermore college is having a sub center of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) Nasik providing opportunities for further education in various UG and PG courses for drop out students, presently 400 enrollments in various courses.

College is having an independent library with rare collections of manuscripts and with wide array of books for academics and competitive examinations. We have several sports facilities available in the campus for indoor games and outdoor activities. To ensure their holistic development, NCC, NSS and Cultural wings are active in the college.

History

Pratishthan Mahavidyalaya is situated on the bank of Godavari river. The college was founded by Late Kanderaoji Patil Shisode Dhakephalkar in 1965 it holds the distinction of being one of the oldest educational institutions in the Marathwada region. The journey of this venerable institution commenced within the confines of an ancient heritage monument in Paithan, initially affiliated with Osmania University, Hyderabad, before later affiliating with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

A visionary and educationist, Late Kanderaoji Patil Shidode Dhakephalkar embarked on this educational odyssey with the establishment of three primary schools in the Paithan region. Recognizing the need for higher education in rural areas, he harbored a mission to equip rural students with the tools to compete in various competitive examinations such as UPSC, MPSC, and Defense.

Though his life was cut short prematurely, his aspirations lived on through his successor, Late Bhaurao Patil Shisode Dhakephalkar, who tirelessly worked to realize his predecessor’s dreams. Under his stewardship, the institution flourished, adorned with modern amenities conducive to the growth and development of its students in all spheres.

Today, under the leadership of the present President, Shri Ravindra Patil Shisode, and the entire management body, the institution continues its legacy of excellence. With unwavering dedication, they strive to provide the best possible environment for the development of both the institution and its students, ensuring that the vision of its founders remains steadfastly upheld.
