Pratishthan Mahavidyalaya Paithan was established on June 1, 1965, by the Pratishthan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Paithan, on the banks of the Godavari River, founded by the late Khanderaoji Patil Shisode. It is one of the oldest educational institutions in the Marathwada region, providing quality education to students from rural areas across various streams, from junior college to postgraduate levels, all under one umbrella. Our mission is to offer ``Education to Underprivileged Classes.``
Education plays a key role in the overall development of society. Its purpose extends beyond merely imparting knowledge and theory. According to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, “Education could open the eyes and encourage the oppressed to fight against the injustices and exploitation they have suffered for ages.” He recognized that the lack of education was a primary cause of the backwardness of poor people. He advocated for a humanistic education that enables individuals to rediscover themselves and achieve freedom, rather than merely being students of the church, school, or state.
College is having a campus of 6 acres and received B+ grade in the second cycle of NAAC Accreditation in 2021. Whatever makes an educational institution excellent, be it a supportive, positive and progressive management team, a team of qualified faculty members, rich library, modern teaching methods, with well equipped laboratories, Research labs, and computerized library to help students in attaining highest standards in academics, research and professional skills. The campus has adequate sports infrastructure to take care of Sports and recreational activities. The college also offers some unique academic programs to make our students more competent. The college provides facility for external students desirous of higher education and has established study center of YCMOU (Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University).
College not only focuses on the theoretical curriculum, but also helps in building a student’s personality, character and their sense of social responsibility. Thus, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including sports, are also equally encouraged among the students to ensure a multi-dimensional personality development of the learners.
